edward always gets so excited when he learns something new about bella, the fact that her mind is mute to him means that whenever she mentions something he didn’t already know about her he treats it like a precious gift so one night bella tells him that she can read palms and edward is so fascinated by this new piece of information. he asks her to please read his palm and bella takes his hand in both of hers, trailing her fingers over his lifeline and letting out thoughtful sounds as she thoroughly examines his hand. then she looks up at him and goes “it says that you’re a nerd.”
